Hello everyone my name is Mollie Jacobs and I wanted to share my real and upsetting experience with Ruby Models and Lamp Studios was not a good one but I feel my bad experience may help save many for that I am hopeful. Ruby Models and Lamps studios are run by derek Johnson and Byron Jones, Ruby models side of things offered me a free test shoot where they would pay for this apparent top studio Lamp Studios to do the photos in order for them to decide whether I would 'fit' the bill and if I did they would accept me to their books and then only take a Percentage of what I earned from jobs they found me. I fell for all Ruby Models and Lamp Studios had to say, I caught up in it and they made me feel good about my chances, they fed me the ultimate script and me being new to this industry fell for it. I attended a shoot and I will use shoot lightly here with lamp Studios, it was an awful studio, it wasn’t a real studio it was two rooms that had some pot plants, a couple of photos on the wall and was being run by actual monkeys these monkeys were in fact Derek Johnson and Byron Jones. These two monsters done me out of £2100 for about 15 photos. I should have knew as when I arrived I had no one dress me, do my makeup and tidy me up, within 15 minutes I was being photographed, with no lighting or anything. I even questioned the lack of equipment and they immediately answered with they use the newest, high tech cameras which means they don’t need it! Once the shoot has finished or the mockery should we say, one of them went off for 40 minutes I can only assumed to get my photos developed. The whole thing was a joke! I have not had any communication with Derek Johnson or Byron Jones and have not had even one penny back but I WILL NOT stop until I do and more importantly I will not stop till they are caught! My words go out to all fellow models, always trust your instincts and do not be fooled by words and glamour, I wish I hadn’t as I am now over £2k lighter and have a real sadness that will always be with me. Keep you wits about you and trust only those who have good reviews.

Two men are now known as scammers in the modelling world they called Derek Johnson and Byron Jones they claim to run professional companies one Ruby Models that is an apparent ‘agency’ and the other Lamp Studios ‘ professional photography studio’ In fact the two are scam artists, scamming honest, hardworking model hopefuls out of a lot of money and hurt them in process. 

Modelling industry news it has been revealed that Ruby Models and Lamp Studios are a scam after complaint after complaint has been made against them. Investigations in London have shown that they are a scam after months of investigations by Trading Standards and Watchdog the owners of this scam are finally getting what they deserve the scam was created by Derek Johnson and Lamp Studios owner Byron Jones. Hundreds upon hundreds of models have been effected by this but thankfully it seems investigations have begun. Aspiring models have been scammed by Ruby models and Lamp studios, the total number and amount of money is yet to be confirmed and is also has not been confirmed yet if Models will get money back but is hopeful. Derek Johnson and Byron jones of these fakes companies have been obtaining money by deception, hard selling to the point models felt like they had no choice, not returning deposits as previously agreed. 

These horrible scammers have no respect for anyone who crosses their path and they will use every tactic possible to get money out of people, they use flattery, they build peoples dreams up and they tell models what they want to hear.

 This horrible scam is preying on the vulnerable, the newbies to the industry and it is frankly not ok. We investigations under way it is hopeful not only will these scammers be caught but it may stop future scammers even thinking about this. The more we talk, the more we share, the quicker we can put an end to scam artists like Derek Johnson and Byron jones. 

The Modelling world is one of the best, fun industries in the world but you always get a couple of idiots who try and ruin it for the rest but not this time, Ruby Models and Lamp Studios will be caught and we will all be on the side line ready to applaud!

4 months ago I took the plunge to enter the world of modelling and due to lack of knowledge and not researching well enough, I went with pretty much the first companies I came across, 

Ruby Models and they then introduced me to Lamp Studios, now it turns out they are working in cahoots together and joint scam artists Derek Johnson and Byron Jones are in it together and are the master minds behind this awful scam. 

It’s never nice having to inform others of scammers but it’s so important and this information needs sharing as much as possible. Ruby Models are offering out free test shoots where they would pay for Lamp studios to do the photos in order for them to decide whether models would 'fit' the bill and if I did they would accept them onto their books and then only take a % of what is earned from jobs they find you. 

First and foremost it is against the law for any so called agency to charge you an upfront fee for anything and it is against law for a company to charge a fee for anything if looking for photographic or fashion work. The owners of Ruby Models and Lamp Studios are Derek Johnson and Byron Jones, these low lives need to be stopped and this is why this scam needs to be discussed and shared. 

Ruby Models get around this law, by not charging an upfront fee from themselves but by saying they have accepted you on to their books and that they need a portfolio so you have to buy the photos from there photography studios, their studio in this case is Lamp studios the other scamming company. These so called fakes images can go up to thousands of pounds, so please be aware. If they are ringing you this is all part of scam, they are luring you in, training you before the ultimate part of the scam and that is to take your money!

 You will then be taken to Lamp Studios that will provide low quality imagery and not even worth the paper they are printed on, so you would have wasted money and have something you cannot even use. I have personally lost nearly £1800 to these people and its hurt me bad financially and emotionally but I will not allow them to take away my dream completely, so I am still pursing my career but took the safe bet and sought help from a free modelling platform. 

Do not get hurt like I did, be aware and avoid Ruby Models and Lamp studios. Take your time and research!

RUBY MODELS ARE A SCAM AGENCY DO NOT USE THEM! THEY WILL SCAM YOU

I wanted to share this message about two companies owned by two gutless men, they ripped my friend Natasha off, they conned her out of money, left her with anxiety and have really affected her dreams at becoming a model. So please be well aware of this huge scam of high street Modelling company Ruby Models and Photography company Lamp Studios, the names behind these awful scams are Derek Johnson & Byron Jones, Please take note of all these details as both companies are scamming vulnerable, honest models out of a lot of money and there is no way of getting this money any time soon. They hire student photographers and make you believe you are dealing with professionals, they present you with prices between £1000- £3000 even more I read recently for tasteless portfolios or promising the world but not delivering anything other empty lies and scams. Both companies are working together to create the perfect scam. They advertise to models If you cannot pay such an amount please don't worry because if you pay today they will reduce the price from around 70%, so they are making the cost sound more appealing, luring you in by seeming kind and also using flattering and more lies like ‘Do not worry Next week you will have a huge modelling job, so you will get your money back in no time’, please do not fall for anything these people and these companies say, no matter how appealing it may seem. This is exactly how they scammed my friend, she was new to the industry and sadly believed what this clever scammers said.  Derek Johnson & Byron Jones are now known in the industry as scam artists but they continue to scam again and again, we must all work together to stop this. Once caught they never leave they change their names and website address. So for now Derek Johnson & Byron Jones are trading under Ruby Models and Lamp Studios, these are scammers, liars, horrible people and this is for all Models to be wary and protect yourself. Do not work with these people. You can and should have your photographs taken but make sure you are going to see a private genuine real qualified photographer or studio. There are lots of great advice sources out there, so we beg you to use them. Sadly this industry is full of scammers, people ready to hurt, con you but we are not the only industry so do not let this put you off, just take note and always be careful. My friend is now a couple of months on from these scam but sadly she is still hurting and getting over the money loss has been hard, she thought she would have earnt it back by now but sadly she is just in more debt. I will help get out of this slump but I want to warn others so they can protect their selves and their friends.

They have this team of professionals who have vast knowledge about the fashion industry, especially in London. And using their experience and knowledge they would train you into a professional model that you yourself would be surprised enough to see. One of the best things about Six Models that I still remember was that they don’t let girls under 18 participate without getting their parents involved. I still remember how a 16 year old came and insisted on getting photographed, but the team clearly refused and told her to bring her parents along with her if she wants to get photographed and start her modelling career. Apart from that they don’t even charge for their advices.

I honestly believe it’s the best that can happen to anyone because not everyone can afford to pay for all the advice they need, including the type of modelling, styling, which agencies you should go for and etc. they work with you selflessly to create a professional portfolio that best displays your style and talent. Even after I completed my training they helped me in placing my foot in the practical world as a new model supported me until I settled down in my career. If that’s not professionalism, I don’t know what is!

I am the relatively laid back kind of a parent but my experience with Six Models has really opened up my mind. My boy developed a fascination that I didn’t quite encourage, at first, with these TV models.  As a career person you would imagine I am quite strict with following up on education and didn’t even know child modelling existed or a thing about teen models.

But I admittedly thought to myself, instead of just wishing it away, why don’t I let him have a professional assess his skills, furthermore Six Models doesn’t charge for application or processing. They called a few days later and said “we think your son has a great potential and would like to have a professional test shoot with him at our studios.” They both proved me wrong. That aside, their courtesy on the phone, above anything else, moved me.

On the material day, their photographer said they needed to assess his adaptability to different environments. They, therefore, drove us across a dozen “strategic” places across London, all the while taking his photos. I asked what they would do with the photos. I am highly conservative and the last thing I need is my son’s photos floating all over the web. But their assurance was convincing.

I was linked with over a hundred modelling agencies they have on their database. That’s the only place they would send the photos to market my son and every other high fashion models and catalogue models. My great relief came with the confirmation that these agencies understand that the images aren’t loyalty and cannot distribute them to third parties or present them as own.

So how has the journey been? Unprecedentedly positive to say the least, I can’t really tell whether it has been my son’s potential, Six Models marketing or my relatively low expectations. But three months down the line from the photo shoot and he is already featured in two quite influential London magazines and has this huge upcoming project with a national magazine with a probability of a main feature. But I think we owe it all to Six Models. Come to think of it; you can’t really imagine that they didn’t charge us a penny for this; not for the application or marketing. Thank you Six Models you have really fulfilled my son’s ambitions.

I am a male model and have done shoots with Mac Fashion Studios , I have been modelling professionally for nearly eight months now. I do a range of modelling, some fitness, high street fashion and commercial modelling. Before starting out with Mac Fashion Photography Studios I never knew there were so many areas in modelling.

it was fairly over whelming but after spending some time with the Mac Fashion Photography review team it all started to make sense and I started to realise where my looks best suited. Without Mac Fashions advice I wouldn’t have worked that out for a long time. For any male model posing techniques is very different to females, I didn’t have a clue where to start but the staff at Mac Fashion Photography helped me so much and gave me advice that I will hold close to me forever and will share to fellow models. That’s why I wanted to share these tips in my Mac Fashion Photography review. 

Men look better with their bodies square to the camera, accentuating their broad shoulders and chest, it highlights a males attributes and adds masculinity to an image. Male models are asked to stand with their thighs half open as this helps with the posture.

You should pose with your weight evenly distributed on either leg or both.

Tilt your head to your lower shoulder not your higher one, the higher is considered feminine.

Drop your chin - this adds depth to your facial features something that Mac Fashion Studios

Favourable positions for a males arm and hands are either – as fists, with your thumbs in his front pockets or across his chest with his hands on his forearms and his thumbs tucked under each arm. Another arm-and-hand pose to try is with the fingers flat in the back pockets and the thumbs outside the pockets. Arms and hands hanging straight from the shoulder or the hands crossed just below the belt do not make a good shot and is very unflattering, I made that mistake a few times. 

Your eyes should follow the direction of your nose or look away from camera slightly. Never look directly into a camera is doesn’t look natural. 

If you are sitting down make sure your back is straight - this makes the angle and pose look more natural. 

Mac Fashion Photography go all out to help you as model, they do not just take your photos they get you ready to be a model and to me that is so much more important. I can honestly say they have helped shape who I am today. There is no such thing as a Mac Fashion Photography scam and if anyone says different than I can only guess they were a model who didn’t make it or someone who does not like brutal honesty. Honesty is what is needed in this industry and that’s why I wish there were more professionals like the Mac Fashion Photography team. 

Thats why i recommend Mac Fashion Photography they really are amazing i used some other companies like Stock Photography London who turned out to be a massive scam and the images where dreadful. 

RUBY MODELS IS A SCAM MODEL AGENCY

Hi there my name is Jane and My son is now a child model but no thanks to Ruby Models and Lamp studios who got us off to a very sad, stressful start. Since Matthew my son was 3-4 I always thought he would make a great child model, other people always used to comment on how cute he was as baby and what a smiler he was. When he reach 6 he grown up even more and he loved being centre of attention and where ever there was a camera Matthew would be in front of it, so after talking with his dad for some time we decided to research child modelling and if it was doable. 

Our story sadly did not start of so well, we got conned out of £3,000 by two companies called Ruby Models and Lamp Studios, the owners Derek Johnson and Byron Jones, these two names will haunt us forever. 

I would not say it was because we were naïve I would say they were just the ultimate scammers, perfect liars and the whole scam was well planned out. 

Everything seemed 100% real, the shoot, the advice, the photos we saw on computer, they seemed genuine, kind and honest but alarm rung when at end of shoot we were asked to pay the full £3k but again with elaborate lies they had won us over and we fell for it hook, line and sinker!! We paid it, we paid with cash as also requested due to their payment system being down (I know right big alarm bell) but trust when you’re in the middle of the whirl wind scam, you are blown away by hope and possibilities and do not look beyond that. We paid and were told in 5 working days we would receive Matthews portfolio and disc, we would have 200 images and will be signed to Ruby models agency. 

Let’s fast forward we are now 5 months down the road and we have never had a portfolio, no communication and not even an email. We were 100% scammed by Ruby Models and Lamp studios and now seems we were not the only one. 

Please be aware of these two spineless men and always about future scams, you need to be alert and know information.

All Models starting out will agree is so scary and over whelming as there is so many companies out there to hurt you,so obviously it came in mind is there a six Modelling scam...? But thats just cause you read other horror stories, its hard to be positive all the time but when you start researchng like I did you soon read great six Model review and realise there is not a six Modelling scam. So take it from me they are a great company to put your trust in, they helpedme, theyve helped others and they will hep you.

six models are dedicated to all models, and i mean all, older models, plus size and range or diffrent styles and looks. I am so glad I foudn them, without them I would be doing my dream job and I wouldnt be doing this six Model review for you.

Tthe whole porcess is proper stress free, you start your journye by simply contacting them via their site and fill out a really easy basic form, just general details like name, address, modelling details, images etc

they then contact you and I had great lady called Gillian contact me, Gillian was a model coach for six and trust me she knew everything about modelling and even helped me realise the different modelling avenues I could take.

From the moment I contacted them they help me, i mean literally step by step, thy advise you, support you and guide you and the best part itis all free! the advice they give you is invaluable!

six  Models is a new platform website that was started in August 2005.  there are modelling chatrooms online that have mixed reviews in them some people say they are good for people starting out in the industry and have even helped them get signed to agencies and undertaking work within the industry, while other people say they were just turned down after being made travel a long distance to london!

They are the UK's first five star modelling platform and yes it looks like some of the people they work with have gone away and done very well. when i spoke to someone there about my child going with them they were very clear that if they worked with us it could go either way.

i read some bad things about them saying they would not help me getting signed to an agency however when i went along they they seemed like they knew these comments were there and believe they are put there by rival modelling and portfolio companies.

they then advised us on getting a portfolio started however advised stated that we need to keep building his modelling portfolio as he is proceeding within the industry. "as it will be updated as he proceeds within the industry"

You can see some very clear details on Yahoo from an experienced UK Model booker, Jake. Although there is no way of knowing if Jake is genuine the information given is exactly how modelling agencies are meant to work are absolutely true.

the only thing that makes me think they are not a scam is the fact that i have since got him  signed to two agencies with the portfolio we got and have already been offered some paid work.

so yes they are not an agency that find the jobs however have managed to do what they said would- and yes i paid for a portfolio which ended up being a lot cheaper that pictures i have had taken of the kids at Venture photography in the past

so in conclusion i dont think its one of these model agency scams.

•  the said they would help get us a portfolio sorted they kept there promise,
•  they said they would be upfront with me  and i have no reason to believe they were not, 
•  they said they would help us with getting signed to an agency without charing me and they  did. 

My conclusion is if you want to start modelling give them they seem really good!!!
